Marc Damon visits the shop and plays a couple of guitars

I had the privilege of  having both the Hot Club of Phoenix as well as Marc Damon by to try out a couple of guitars this week. I am still editing the Hot Club of Phoenix stuff with Andrew, but here is a clip of Marc playing “How High the Moon” on a 14 fret D-hole.

Michael Collins graduated from the Roberto Venn School of Luthiery in 1992. He built Harpsichords, and Fortepianos for the firm of Hubbard & Broekman Harpsichords in Boston for seven years, before resuming his love for guitar building. He began making reproductions of Selmer style instruments in 2002, and wrote a book describing that process which was published in 2006. He lives in Arizona, and is in the middle of creating a Selmer guitar building course for the Roberto Venn School of Luthiery.
